The 17th Century ‘Cannon’ wreck and Bronze Age Wrecks lie between Moor Sand and Rickham Sands and the Church of the parish is St. Sylvester’s in the nearby hamlet of Chivelstone.
In 2020 the 14th Century Church with the help of a Lottery Grant went through a complete renovation. SWMAG assisted in the grant with a letter of support to the Lottery people stating the importance of the church to the Protected Wreck Sites off the nearby shore.
Space in the Church was granted to SWMAG and with the help of Alison James of MSDS Marine Heritage and English Heritage a permanent static display was set up. The display consists of a stand with photographs and a ‘Touch Screen’ display showing the work of SWMAG.
